Yuchai Machinery is the main subsidiary of the large Yuchai Group corporation. It was founded back in 1951, and in 1993 the company underwent substantial restructuring and was reorganized as a joint venture with Chinese and foreign capital. Notably, in the mid-1990s the company's securities were listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Thus, Yuchai Machinery became the first Chinese company whose shares were issued and traded abroad.
The company's headquarters are located in Yulin (Guangxi province). Today its close-knit team numbers more than 8,000 employees. Yuchai Machinery produces around 700,000 engines a year, at least 30,000 of which are exported. The company's product range includes about 6 types and 22 series of diesel engines used in marine and river vessels, various machinery, agricultural equipment, as well as passenger cars and trucks.
Yuchai Machinery units are capable of generating from 55 to 1500 kilowatts of electrical power. At the same time, they cause minimal harm to the environment, as their harmful emissions do not exceed the limits set by the European Euro-3 standard.

To this end, the company has established several new research laboratories in Yulin and Nanning. These research centers are supported at the state level. This has allowed the company's management to open about 10 research centers not only in China but also in other countries. The best Chinese engineers work closely with leading specialists from Austria, Germany and Brunel University in the United Kingdom.
The high pace of new technology and innovation in diesel engines and power plants is also ensured by a large number of researchers and scientists. In total, more than a thousand employees work in the research centers and laboratories (including about 30 PhDs, at least 180 specialists with master's degrees, and 8 professors).
When developing new diesel models, the company's staff rely on the results of scientific research and actively introduce new engineering principles based on efficient, fast and environmentally safe operation. All this makes it fair to say that Yuchai Machinery is driving the truly rapid development of China's machine-building industry.
The first diesel engine built in China to Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards is believed to have been designed and built by Yuchai Machinery specialists. In addition, the company's achievements that were new to Chinese industry include:
- the first diesel engine designed for sedan cars;
- the first gas engine to meet the international Euro-4 standard;
- the first city bus with a hybrid powertrain.
In the near future, Yuchai Machinery plans to start serial production of engines meeting Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards. This will provide reliable, efficient and environmentally friendly diesel units not only to users in China but also in neighboring and distant countries.
The company has at least 45 representative offices in China and abroad. In addition, about 2,300 service centers operate worldwide. The company also runs a modern call center serving customers in China and other countries, whose staff are ready to provide fast and efficient service to everyone.
